Rochdale Science Extravaganza expand to become bigger and better

The team behind the annual spring Rochdale Science Extravaganza have registered as a Community Interest Company to bring even more science to the Rochdale borough.
The annual March Rochdale Science Extravaganza has taken place at Wardleworth Community Centre since 2017, and is made possible through Rochdale Science Association, in conjunction with British Science Week and supported by the British Science Association (BSA).
The fun-filled event was founded by Labib Rahman, 12, thanks to his love of science.
The newly-registered Rochdale Science Initiative CIC is now planning a similar event for summer, meaning the event will take place twice a year, in addition to hopes of bringing a festival over several days to Rochdale.
Labib’s father, Mohammed, who has recently completed a community science leaders initiative with the BSA, said: “We will be working with the British Science Association festival team, working towards bringing a science festival into Rochdale. We're already planning for a summer science extravaganza in August.
